Wild Atlantic Way 19: Iveragh and the Ring of Kerry

Choose the part of Iveragh that interests you most, with a separate day for Killarney if you want one.

Give the peninsula some time

Iveragh and the Ring of Kerry present more choices than a single driving circuit can properly explore. Consult the regional route information, then choose a town or stretch of coast to build around. A stop with time to walk and have lunch is often more rewarding than a sequence of brief photographs.

An inland option at Killarney

Killarney National Park is an inland alternative or an additional day, rather than another coastal viewpoint. Use the park’s own information to choose a visit and check current route notices. Allow for the journey between your coastal base and the park when deciding where to stay.

Around the next bay

The series continues towards Kenmare and Beara. Think about where you want the day to end before adding another peninsula road. Any island excursion needs a separate operator booking and weather plan; do not treat a hoped-for landing as a guaranteed item in a road itinerary.
