Begin in Belmullet
Belmullet is a useful starting point for an Erris visit. Before driving further, look through the current destination information and decide which part of the area you want to explore. A town stop also gives you a chance to settle practical matters, from lunch to the evening’s accommodation.
A craft stop
Lúnasa appears in the local visitor listings as a craft destination. Check its current opening information and ask directly about any workshops that interest you. A shop visit and a scheduled workshop are different plans: one may fit a passing visit, while the other needs a place booked and time set aside.
Allow for the coastline
Erris covers more ground than a single viewpoint. Choose a coastal outing from current local guidance and check its road access before setting off. If Achill is next on your itinerary, work back from your intended arrival time rather than adding loops until the afternoon has gone. There is plenty here to justify a return visit.
