Underground at Arigna
Arigna Mining Experience introduces the area’s mining history through an underground tour and exhibits. Read the current tour information before booking, particularly if steps, enclosed spaces or other access considerations matter to you. A visit gives the day a subject to follow beyond the landscape above ground.
Another historical direction
Rathcroghan Visitor Centre and the National Famine Museum at Strokestown Park offer different subjects to explore. Choose whichever interests you most and look at its current visitor programme. Each is a separate outing with its own practical arrangements, rather than an addition that must be fitted around Arigna.
Leave time for a town
Boyle and Roscommon town are places to consider for a pause or a stay. If Lough Key appeals, check its visitor options and fit it into the part of the county you are exploring. Choose accommodation close to those plans, with dinner and the return journey in mind. A useful break can begin with one historical interest and grow from there.
