Sligo: town evenings and a choice of coast

Make a Sligo base work for Rosses Point, Strandhill or a separate North Sligo outing.

Choose your coastal day

Rosses Point, Strandhill and Mullaghmore offer different starting points for time beside the sea. Look through the destination information and choose what appeals to you. A harbour visit, a meal and a booked activity are different ways to spend the day; there is no need to collect all of them at every stop.

A visit to Streedagh

Streedagh Beach, near Grange, gives a North Sligo outing another landscape to explore. Read the local notices and use the managed access. A shore visit can be about looking, walking where permitted and enjoying the setting. It should not be taken as a recommendation to enter the water.

Keep an evening in town

Sligo town can give the break a cultural interest as well as a practical base. Check current exhibitions or performances if you want a particular event, and leave time for a meal. Establish how you will return from a coastal outing, especially if you hope to leave the car behind. Choose one coast for this visit and come back for another.
