Waterford: a city visit or a greenway day

Choose a city history break, a selected greenway section or another corner of the county.

Make a city plan

A museum or an interpreted visit can give Waterford city a clear place in a short break. Choose an interest through the official destination guide, then check the individual venue’s programme. Leave time around the main visit for a meal and the streets nearby rather than trying to see the wider county that afternoon as well.

Out on the greenway

The Waterford Greenway offers a different day outside. Select a section that suits your interests and abilities, and establish the return arrangement before starting. If you are hiring equipment, ask the provider about the plan you actually want to make rather than assuming a full-route outing is the obvious choice.

Choose a town or coast next

Dungarvan and Kilmacthomas are places to consider around a greenway visit. Elsewhere, Dunmore East, Tramore, Ardmore and Lismore suggest different Waterford outings. Pick a base near the part of the county you want to explore. If you are travelling without a car, check the outward and return connections before adding an out-of-town stop.
