Fermanagh: caves, estates and time beside the lakes

Choose a geology-led visit or an estate outing, with Enniskillen and the lakeland setting around it.
Trory Jetty at Lower Lough Erne, County Fermanagh

Below the surface

Marble Arch Caves offers a visit built around the geology beneath Fermanagh’s landscape. Read the current tour description before booking and ask about steps, the environment underground and any specific access needs. Conditions can affect what is available, so the operator’s latest information matters more than an older account of a visit.

Choose an estate

Castle Coole, Crom and Florence Court offer other ways to spend time in the county. Pick the house or landscape that interests you and check what is open. A visit to the grounds and an interior tour can have different arrangements; choosing one estate gives you more time there than trying to fit several into a day.

A town base and a change of plan

Enniskillen is one place to consider for a town stay, a meal or a pause between outings. Compare it with the journeys you actually want to make. At the time of this check, the caves’ official website listed Cladagh Glen as closed until further notice. Keep that walk out of your plan unless the operator confirms it has reopened.
